Nothing changes if nothing changes. And this is a big change!

I’m writing this text, months before I make the announcement by publishing this blog post, but I can already feel the butterflies in my stomach whilst I start this. Not because what I am doing feels wrong or doesn’t feel like the right decision for me, it absolutely does. It’s because with change, comes fear. Fear of judgement, fear of failure, fear of success (yes, that’s a thing!), fear of the unknown. My biggest fear is that you, my dearest audience, won’t understand. So I am going to try my best to explain my decision. I am feeling the fear but I’m doing it anyway because I know from experience that you don’t take action in the absence of fear, you do it in spite of the fear. I’m doing it because I know this is the right thing for me and I know that this is going to benefit every one of you who have been on this journey with me.

From the 1st of January 2021 I will no longer be teaching how to do keto.

I thought about how to announce this whilst trying to cushion the blow that I know many of you will feel but I think, like a band aid, the best way is just to rip it off. From the 1st of January 2021 I will no longer be teaching how to do keto. I know that might come as a massive shock, I am Keto Christina after all, but stick with me and I’ll explain firstly what led me to this decision and secondly, what that means for you and me in the future.

Let me clear something up first. I’m not quitting keto or carnivore. I’m still going to be eating a mostly carnivore occasionally keto diet. I still utterly believe in the power of this way of eating and it will still be the diet I recommend to everyone. Keto saved my life. I’ve seen this way of eating completely transform people’s lives and health. I will never not be keto’s biggest fan.

I know you’re probably shouting at me. Here’s the thing. Keto and Carnivore diets are both amazing in their power to transform, to heal, for weight loss, diabetes, chronic illness etc. Believe me I’ve seen some amazing things in my programs and in private coaching. The problem is that, as amazing as this way of eating is, it misses one huge chunk of the puzzle and without this piece, all I see is heartache and struggle. 

That piece is mindset. I’ve privately coached hundreds of women from all over the world. I’ve sat week after week with women trying to help them get in control of their eating, stop self-sabotaging and renewing their self-worth and confidence in themselves. Most of the work I did with the majority of these women was mindset. I saw very quickly that these amazing, intelligent women knew what to eat, that was the easy part. The hard part was sticking to the diet.

In my work both in private coaching and paid group coaching programs the pattern was the same. Each week I saw more and more stories of women trying their best to stick to the diet, knowing what they should be eating, but helplessly unable to stop themselves from emotionally eating and other acts of self-sabotage. It broke my heart because I could feel the struggle, the heartache and the frustration. These women were tired of putting in 200% effort for very little return.

I knew the struggle only too well as I too had struggled with my motivation and resolve during a massively stressful time. My international house move, I’ve talked about it in many videos, was probably the most stressful thing I’ve ever done. I comfort ate and self-sabotaged my way to a 15lb weight gain that I am still battling with. I knew that something was missing. It was my mindset. I always told myself that I would be happy when I got to X weight but here’s the thing. I wasn’t happy. I was still struggling to find the place where I would be happy with my weight and my body. It didn’t come. Here’s the missing piece – If you aren’t happy now, you won’t be happy then because wherever you go, there you are.

To really be successful on keto or carnivore you absolutely must tackle the mindset stuff. The emotional eating and the self-sabotage are the two biggest success blockers facing most women when they try to lose weight. I had done this for myself. I had done the mindset work, unblocked and cleared so many funky memories and experiences that I had carried with me and allowed them to dictate how successful I would be, not only in weight loss, but in my life in general.

As I started to learn more, read more, experience more, I felt myself being drawn to mindset with my blog posts, newsletters and videos. It was because I knew the power of this stuff and I desperately wanted to share it at every opportunity. I decided action was needed and so I put all of my knowledge and experience into a new program that I called The Whole 360. After one test group I knew we were onto a mindset winner. I saw incredible life changing transformations happen after the first week! I knew how amazing this work could be but it still blew me away. I then ran the first paid program and I knew that this was the work I was meant to do. This is the way forward to help women be successful in their weight loss journey. But something amazing happened.

Women were changing their success in money, career

and relationships. It was awe inspiring to witness

Women were reporting transformations in other areas of their lives too. No more procrastination, no more self-doubt, a promotion with a huge pay rise, a difficult marriage transformed overnight, freedom from toxic parents. The list went on and on. Women were changing their success in money, career and relationships. It was awe inspiring to witness the profound changes. More importantly these women were realising that they weren’t somehow broken or fundamentally flawed. They had just lost themselves and their authentic selves. By changing their narrative, challenging their current mindset, they were able to free themselves of a lifetime of struggle. 

So that brings me to my decision. In the time I ran The Whole 360 I saw more progress, more transformation and more success than I had in all the previous coaching I had done. I knew that the key to helping women successfully lose weight forever didn’t lie in the “how to”. There are literally millions of free resources out there for keto and carnivore. There are millions of videos, books, blogs, courses, programs etc. for the how to. After 200+ videos, blog posts and live coaching, I think I have said everything I needed to say about keto. I needed to do more. I needed to step it up. The key to helping women successfully lose weight long term lay in the mindset. 

So I am going back a step and helping women with the weight loss mindset and I want you to be there with me. I know that if you don’t do the mindset work you will find it incredibly difficult to stick to the diet. This is the work that will help women, no matter what weight loss diet they choose to be on, successfully lose the weight and keep it off. I know because I’ve lived it, I’ve seen it with the hundreds of women I’ve coached and I’ve seen it in my group coaching programs. What to eat is the easy bit. Why you are eating is where the hard work lies. 

Keto Christina isn’t going away. My YouTube channel will stay and the keto videos will still be there to rewatch but I won’t be making any new ones about the “how to”. My new YouTube content is all going to be focused on mindset and I can’t wait to see what you think of it. This success mindset is something that you can apply to any area of your life, not just weight loss. That is the beauty of this work. You can pick anything – wealth, career, relationships etc. and apply the work to them to get success like you wouldn’t believe and have never dreamed of. So please join me in this new chapter because it’s going to be awesome for all of us.

I’m still going to be here, I’m not going anywhere. My Facebook group will stay open until the end of January and after that it will be closed. My Facebook page will change from Keto Christina to Christina Oman. My website will eventually be going away, to be replaced with a brand new one full of amazing free resources to get you started on your mindset transformation. I will be having a virtual party to celebrate and I want you there with me in January. I want you to benefit from all of the amazing things I have learned over the last year. I am staying on Instagram and only my handle will change and I’m sure I’ll still be posting Instagram stories heavily featuring food!

I know that many of you will feel shocked and surprised, some of you will feel angry at me, feel that I am abandoning you but I’m not. You will see that this is the right step because no matter how much I talk about how to do the diet, without this vital work it will be like climbing Everest. I’m still here, I’m not going anywhere, I’m still coaching, I’m still running my mindset programs, making awesome free content, supporting and encouraging my community and I want you there with me. Keto Christina will always be a part of me and what I do but I am excited for this new chapter in my life and I can’t wait to see the transformations that happen. I can’t wait to see what you do.
