I’m not the most imaginative in the kitchen, that’s Mr. Keto’s realm. Left to my own devices I will eat a combination of bacon, eggs and halloumi for every meal! It’s not that I don’t like other foods, I don’t mind cooking I just don’t love it. I haven’t got great imagination about combining ingredients and bringing together of complementary flavours.
Based on your answers you will be presented with your meal plans. You can decide what you want to eat as part of every meal or you can just let is choose for you. If it gives you a meal that you don’t like you can simply skip it. You can also go through all of the available recipes and find one that you like and try that.
It’s amazingly customisable. If you’re eating 2 meals a day, for example, you always skip breakfast, you can decide that you only want 2 breakfasts in your weekly meal plan meaning that if you eat breakfast only on the weekend you have the choices there. The feature I loved the most was the pantry. You select, from a list, what items you have in the pantry and what ones are missing from the list. It then keeps track of what you use in the recipes and prompts you to remind you that you might need to go shopping. It’s so cool!

The recipes were varied and honestly absolutely delicious. My favourite by far was the grilled chicken & herbed ricotta salad with basil. It was creamy and full of flavour. PlateJoy has obviously put a lot of time and effort into testing these recipes and you can really tell by the quality and diversity. There wasn’t many dessert options or snacks but that suited me perfectly because, as a sugar addict, I need to carefully control how often I have dessert, even keto desserts. The danger is there!
